RNG 457 Range Reclamation and Restoration

Ecological principles, practices and applied technology involved in the restoration and reclamation of severely disturbed rangelands will be discussed and analyzed. Primary emphasis will be placed on vegetation and factors impacting vegetation recovery and/or establishment. Class will include on-site field trips to ranches, oil field sites and/or open pit coal mine locations in western ND. Pre- or Co-requisites: SOIL 210 - Introduction to Soil Science, PLSC 110- - World Food Crops, PLSC 486 - Forages and Forage Systems, RNG 350 - Range Plants and Communities and RNG 458 - Rangeland Ecology.
