CSCI 490 Computer Science Research Seminar I
The first of a two-semester research capstone sequence. Students will apply their knowledge and skills from previous coursework to a comprehensive independent research or project-based experience. Students will work with a faculty mentor to identify a significant problem or research question in computer science, cybersecurity, AI, or data analytics. Students will select a research topic, review existing literature and software, and develop the proposal for their capstone project. This course emphasizes information technology soft skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, technical writing, and presentation skills.
