EMS 301 Management of EMS Systems

This course provides an in-depth exploration of the structure, function, and leadership of Emergency Medical Services systems in the United States. Students will examine how EMS systems are designed, financed, staffed, deployed, and evaluated. Topics include regulatory oversight, operations management, clinical quality improvement, communication systems, EMS finance, community risk reduction, integration with fire service and public safety, data driven decision making, and strategic leadership in modern EMS organizations. The course emphasizes practical application and preparation for supervisory and management roles in EMS agencies.
