FIRE 400 Fire and Emergency Services Administration
This course is designed as a progressive primer for students seeking a deeper understanding of fire and emergency services administration. It emphasizes the skills necessary to lead and manage modern emergency service organizations in the 21st century, including persuasion and influence, accountable budgeting, anticipating organizational challenges, change management, and utilizing administrative tools for problem analysis and resolution. A central focus is on developing internal and external cooperation to create a coordinated approach to fulfilling the department’s mission. Students will explore leadership, community relations, risk management, strategic planning, budgeting, communication technologies, and national assessment models.
