FIRE 406 Fire Dynamics
This course examines the underlying scientific principles governing fire behavior, combustion, flame spread, heat transfer, plumes, smoke movement, compartment fire development, extinguishment mechanisms, and special hazards. Students will analyze how structural components, fuel properties, environmental conditions, and physics interact to influence the growth and suppression of fires. Students will also apply quantitative and qualitative fire dynamics concepts to real-world incidents, building code applications, and fire protection strategies.
