The Division of Student Affairs at Dickinson State University strives to promote a campus community built on collaboration and personal relationships. Our philosophical foundation is one of servant and principal-centered leadership. We work to provide services, programs and resources that enable and empower students in their professional and personal growth. Our campus is a dynamic and diverse community that I encourage each and every student to become involved in. Information specific to the student experience at Dickinson State University is detailed in the Student Handbook. Highlights appear below.
Begin: Dickinson State University is committed to student success. The Dickinson State University Student Handbook contains information about the academic requirements, student travel, residential living, the University Store and Campus Security. The University provides many programs and resources to ensure student success as assessed through defined university learning outcomes and resulting in the earning of college degree.
Navigate: The Student Handbook contains information on motor vehicle use and parking, the Library and policy information specific to the Student code of Conduct, Email Policy, Computer Use Policy and Electronic Device Policy. Take Care: The Division of Student Affairs is committed to physical and emotional well-being of Dickinson State University students. We make a conscious and engaged effort to offer opportunities to learn about and to implement positive behaviors for the purpose of improving and/or maintaining health and well-being. This effort involves collaborative efforts between the Student Health Service, the Campus Wellness Program and Residential Life Programming. Student Privacy Rights, Drug and Substance Abuse Policy, Tobacco Free Policy and the Significant Infectious Diseases Policy information are accessible through the Student Handbook and online. Of particular importance is the information pertaining to Campus violence, Sexual Harassment and Dickinson State University’s Harassment Complaint Policy and procedure information.
Participate & Breathe: The Student Center is the meeting place for members of the University community: students, faculty, administration, alumni and guests. The Student Center allows a place for the campus community to get to better know and understand each other through association and activities outside the classroom. A complete listing of Dickinson State University clubs and organizations is accessible online and in the Student Handbook. Information about “things to do for fun…[and]…to improve your grades” (besides learning, which of course is FUN and improves your grades!) is also available in the Student Handbook.
