EDUC 519 Teaching Math in the Elementary Classroom

This course is focused on research-based, inquiry-oriented and concept teaching practices supported by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics that promote reasoning and problem-solving, facilitate meaningful mathematical discourse, and build procedural fluency from conceptual understanding.  An examination of teaching strategies that have been shown to be effective in teaching math, such as CRA, Universal Design and others will be analyzed and implemented. Graduate status required. Spring.
