EDUC 210 Educational Technology

This course is an integrated approach to understanding and utilizing educational technology in instructional environments. Students will gain experience with a variety of computer and web applications. They will also explore ethical and appropriate use of applications and the Internet for research and instructional purposes. Emphasis will be placed on determining the purpose of integrated technology in the elementary or secondary classroom setting, identifying appropriate grade-level or content-area technology resources, and making informed and reflective decisions about how to utilize them for facilitating and assessing student learning. Information on teaching and learning online will also be provided. Prior knowledge of computers will be expected. Prerequisites: CSCI 101 - Introduction to Computers. Co-requisites: EDUC 250 - Introduction to Education and EDUC 298 - Pre-Professional Field Experience. Fall, Spring. Course fee required.
