CJ 361 Victims and Victimology

Examines the various forms of family violence in relation to child abuse, battering, incest, and sexual assault. Topics include society's perceptions of victims, theories of victimization, the nature of victimization, patterns of victimization, recent societal responses to the problems of victims, treatment, and prevention. Particular attention is given to the victim rights and compensation, fear of crime measuring victimization, and the impact of victimization on the individual. Cross-listed with SOC 361.
