ELED 238 Children's Literature
Students will become familiar with a wide variety of literature from different genres (e.g., realistic fiction, historical fiction, modern fantasy, traditional literature, nonfiction, and poetry) and in different formats (e.g., novels, picture books, and graphic novels) for preschool through middle-school-aged children and the authors and illustrators of those works. Students will develop and collect instructional materials and activities for use in the classroom. Students will learn and apply strategies for infusing children's literature into all content areas. Prerequisite: ENGL 120 - College Composition II or ENGL 121H - Honors Composition II. This course is part of the university's Writing Across the Curriculum/Writing in the Disciplines program. Spring.
