ELED 383 Diagnosis, Intervention and Assessment of Reading

Students will experience the process of identifying children’s reading deficiencies and the process of developing an instructional plan through the assessment process. Students will learn to administer and interpret a wide variety of individual informal and formal assessment instruments. A lab experience consists of working directly with children to assess, plan, and provide intervention for identified needs. An emphasis will be placed on creating Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education and ELED 281 - Foundations of Teaching Reading in the Elementary Classroom. Co-requisite: ELED 484 - Practicum in Reading. Fall, Summer.
