CJ 253 Juvenile Justice and Delinquency
This course provides an examination of juvenile delinquency and juvenile justice, including legal and social history, definition and theories of delinquency, and assessment of delinquency prevention and correctional programs, with emphasis on the application of philosophical, legal, and procedural principles to problems and cases of juvenile justice. Students will explore juvenile delinquent supervision practices, including risk assessments and other evidence-based tools used by juvenile officials and the courts. Spring, odd years.
