MUSC 124 Music Theory and Analysis I, and Kodaly, Solfege and Ear Training II

This course is a continuation of MUSC 122 - Music Theory and Analysis I, and Aural Skills I. It teaches a more intensive study of harmony as a fundamental element of music. This course also addresses harmonic analysis and simple binary, ternary and rounded binary forms. Aural training and sight singing skills based on the methods and sequencing of Zoltan Kodaly, including improvisation, sight singing, dictation, and error detection. Other music education methods, such as Orff, Dalcroze, BAPNE and others will be incorporated. This course is the second of a four-semester sequence. Prerequisite: MUSC 122 - Music Theory and Analysis I, and Aural Skills I. Spring.
