CSCI 341 Digital Forensics

Covers the field of digital forensics and the role it plays in cybersecurity and criminal investigation. Topics include evidence collection and preservation, chain of custody, file recovery, log analysis, email forensics, and malware investigation. Students work with forensic tools to collect and analyze digital evidence and create basic forensic reports.

Pre-requisite: CSCI 182 – Data Communications and Networks, and CSCI 330 – Operating Systems *182 is a new course, so 181 is used as a placeholder here. CSCI 430 is being renumbered to 330.
