EDUC 300 Teaching for Diversity
This course addresses InTASC standard 2, adopted by CAEP and North Dakota. It will help students better understand students in culturally diverse classrooms as well as prepare them to teach about cultural diversity. This course examines several cultures but is particularly interested in Native Americans of North Dakota, which fulfills the requirement for North Dakota certification. The course will also examine ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, gender, exceptionalities, language, religion, sexual orientation, and geographical area. This is designated as a writing-intensive course. Pre-requisite: Admission to Teacher Education. Co-requisite: EDUC 398D - Diversity and Exceptionalities Field Experience and Pre-requisite: ENGL 120 - College Composition II or ENGL 121H - Honors Composition II . Fall, spring.
