Student Evaluation of Faculty and Courses

Student evaluation of faculty and courses is an important part of Dickinson State University's learning outcome assessment program. Additionally, the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education policy requires faculty evaluations with significant student input. Faculty course evaluations provide valuable data to Dickinson State University for institutional research, curricular revision, and personnel management.

These evaluations are completed in paper version or online, and can be accessed during the evaluation time period, and instructions can be found on the Dickinson State University website. Student responses on the faculty course evaluations will be confidential and used by the University for the purposes cited above.

Per DSU policy, the following courses are not evaluated:

  • Directed/Independent Study, varsity sports, or athletic enhancement will not be evaluated.
  • Courses with less than 4 enrolled will not be evaluated (IVN Sections will be combined).
  • EDUC/ELED/SEED: University supervisors are not evaluated, only 1 to 2 students enrolled. Courses with embedded faculty (not listed as instructor of record), the embedded faculty is not evaluated.
