CJ 330 Courts and Criminal Procedure

This course examines the history and legal principles that underlie the courts as an integral component of the American criminal justice system. The State and Federal Court processes and criminal procedures, including arrests, searches, and seizures through which the courts uphold the rights of U.S. Citizens will be discussed. Focus is placed on understanding the respective roles of judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, police officers, probation officers, and other court-related personnel as it relates to the courts. Fall, odd years.
