CJ 390 Gangs and Organized Crime

This course provides an overview of the history of gangs and an exploration of the various types of gangs, differing organizational structures, and gang culture. Students also analyze effective policies and practices aimed at reducing gang-related crime. The course includes theories and the evolution of traditional organized crime in America and the many new and emerging organized criminal enterprises in the United States. Spring, odd years.
